Machas Orchard
Social enterprise in County Armagh, Northern Ireland, producing premium health products from heritage Bramley apples, committed to sustainability and community impact.
The Challenge
Machas Orchard, a social enterprise in County Armagh producing premium apple health products from heritage Bramley apples, was stuck on a WordPress website they couldn't manage themselves. As older proprietors, they found the WordPress admin overwhelming and couldn't update products, content, or manage orders without external help. They needed a platform that was truly their own — simple to run, with no recurring platform fees — and one that could support their application for the Dormant Assets Fund for Northern Ireland.
Our Approach
RoseyCo built a fully custom e-commerce platform from scratch on Next.js with Stripe payments, replacing WordPress entirely. The admin dashboard was designed for simplicity — 35+ management pages covering products, orders, customers, inventory, email marketing, and SEO monitoring, all built to be intuitive for non-technical users. The platform eliminated recurring platform fees and gave the team complete ownership of their digital storefront, which supported their successful £20,000 Dormant Assets Fund grant application.
